Gold Star

Hannah with her 2 gold Paralympic medals.

We were lucky enough to get a visit from double gold Paralympian Hannah Cockroft yesterday afternoon.  She took 2 hours to visit Hebden Bridge and support the town as it gets back on track following the floods over the summer.

Hannah arrives to an excited audience.

Hebden Bridge's Town Clerk, Jason Boom, was particularly excited.

There was a queue out the door to meet Calderdale's Paralympic champion, and Hannah stayed until everyone had the opportunity to have a photograph taken with her.

Hannah swaps her gold medals for a small dog.

We asked visitors for a donation when they had their photograph taken with Hannah to go to the flood relief charities.  The 2 hour event raised £314.82! Congratulations to Suzy Hesselden from the Hebden Bridge Visitor Centre for organising Hannah's visit and a big thank you to Maria Prescott, Judith Parish, Sue Pemsel and Ian Vickridge, our fantastic volunteers on the day who kept Hannah and the crowd safe and happy.  We couldn't have done it without you.
