The HebChef contest begins.

Hebden Bridge's first Food & Drink Festival kicked off today with a cooking competition for local cooks using food within a 30 mile radius of the town.  4 people were brave enough to step up to the challenge to cook a meal in 20 minutes in front of an enthusiastic crowd of Hebden Bridge.

Al's burger and onion rings.

Tai's cheese and bacon tartlette.

Iain's raw pizza.

We were lucky enough to have ex professional chef Stephen King judge the competition and after a hard decision he announced Fliss Johnson-Standley as the winner. Fliss cooked a fabulous plate of food which included salad from Heptonstall, locally sourced beef and used Saker Bread in Hebden Bridge for her burger bun.  As the winner she won a 7 1/2" Hammer Stahl Santoku knife worth £125 courtesy of Flint and Flame and set of plans courtesy of Prestige.
