Hebden Spirit

Many people have heard about Hebden Bridge's double flood, but have you heard about everyone working together to get homes and businesses back up and running? The Town Hall is proud to be hosting the Hebden Spirit creative auction on 28th September.  This fundraising event to help the businesses of Hebden Bridge started with a Tweet from Helen Russell from Mercury Arts donating a piece of work and quickly picked up pace with many artists offering to donate a piece to raise funds for the town. A group of talented volunteers have managed to embrace the generosity of these artists and are creating a special event to sell these precious items.  Richard Aked from Artome has designed the branding, Sarah Mason is taking all the photos, Alison Bartram from Heart Gallery is dealing with mountain of administration, and Jason Elliott is our esteemed auctioneer. Alison and Sarah came to The Town Hall today to log and photograph all the donations we've received so far.  This is a big job, epsecially when you have your own businesses to run, so a big thank you has to go all the volunteers that are giving their time to making this event happen.

Sarah photographs the donations from artists. Yes, that's a builder in the background.

If you're an artist who would like to donate a piece, there's still time.  Take a look at our artist's invitation below for more information.
