Dementia Friendly Awareness Week

Staying Well & Hebden Bridge Community Association present our first Dementia Friendly Communities Week

Are you someone living with dementia?  A carer of someone living with dementia? Or a community group, local business or professional working with people affected by dementia and other cognitive impairments?

If so, you won’t want to miss this!...

The week runs from Sunday 30th September through to Sunday 7th October 2018 with a wide range of events and activities. The fnal arrangements are being made and a flyer will appear here shortly.

The key highlights will be:

Sunday 30th September from 9.30am - Memory Walks for Alzheimers starting from various meetings points and ending up at Hebden Bridge Town Hall

Monday 1st October from 11am - A market place event at Hebden Bridge Town Hall with workshops and information including Telecare Assistive Technology, Dementia Friends Awareness and the Alzheimer’s Society: journey through diagnosis.

Tuesday 2nd October from 9.30am (several sessions) - Dementia Friendly Virtual Dementia Experience at Hebden Bridge Town Hall

Tuesday 2nd October from 10am - Alzheimer's Society training session on Setting up a Dementia Friendly Community

Wednesday 3rd October from 1pm - A Moment in Time - an afternoon of being in the moment and sharing a range of creative experiences. 

Thursday 4th October from 2pm - Cafe Culture presents Memory Makers

Throughout the week there are various Dementia Friends Awareness Sessions - come along for an hour and learn more about Dementia.  

All regular events throughout the Upper Valley will continue as normal including Be Hear Now Creative Dementia Group, Happy Café, Café Culture and others but there will also be additional activities and running throughout the week.
