Our next exhibition: Hebden Bridge Local History Society Rev Dr John Fawcett: his life and legacy.

As part of their ongoing programme commemorating the bicentenary of the death of Rev Dr John Fawcett on 25th July 1817 and celebrating his influence on our town, Hebden Bridge Local History Society present their next exhibition here at the Town Hall after the wonderfully successful "How the Hippies saved Hebden Bridge".

Do you know how Machpelah got its name, how Rev Fawcett came to write a famous hymn, how he came to the attention of George III or how he brought education to Hebden Bridge?

You can find out by coming to some of the events here: http://www.hebdenbridgehistory.org.uk/

This exhibition is titled: Fawcett, his life and legacy, locally and world-wide.

The exhbition will be open whilst the Town Hall is open.
