Queen's Award for Voluntary Services Presentation

In June 2017 the Queen's Award for Voluntary Services was awarded to Hebden Bridge Community Association.

On Saturday 24th March 2018 at 11am the Award will be presented at the Town Hall.

We have always regarded this as an Award for the town of Hebden Bridge: a little piece of the Award belongs fairly to every single volunteer who walked through the Town Hall door or rang us in the aftermath of the Boxing Day 2015 floods and asked "What can I do to help ?". We stood together after the floods and offered support and care to each other and came through as a community.

We would therefore like to invite anyone who contributed to the Hebden Bridge volunteering effort in the aftermath of the Boxing Day 2015 floods to come along and join the celebration with us from 10am onwards.

We are delighted to be welcoming both the Deputy Mayor of Calderdale and the Mayor of Hebden Royd Town Council. Dave Nelson will be providing music on our piano, Hebden Bridge Radio will be running a live show from 10am in the Hall and huge thanks to Chris from Rogue Robot who has put together a montage of images and film for the big screen (and we have to thank James at Air-Frames UK, Dan at Height Safety Facilities, Hebden Bridge Arts Festival, Reflections of a Milltown and the Staying Well Project)

We hope to have a few more surprises too - but if all else fails there will be refreshments, cake and individual Queen's Awards for all.
