April exhibition - After the Coal Dust

Our next exhibition will be a specially curated selection of photographs from the After the Coal Dust project, with an opening evening hosted by the photographers behind the project, John and Bridget Gill.

The new exhibition will feature a series of candid photographs from streets across the North, including many from the local area, from the Gills' larger collection.

After the Coal Dust reflects the changes and challenges to life in the North since some of the major industries have closed down, and shows the experiences of those left behind.

The photographs will be on display at the Town Hall from Tuesday 29th March - Saturday 23rd April.

There will be an informal opening event on Friday 1st April in our Town Hall cafe, with an opportunity to meet the photographers and hear them talk about the project. There is also an accompanying photo book which will be available to purchase at The Town Hall.
