June exhibition - Our Creative Community by Handmade Parade

Tuesday 24th May - Saturday 18th June

Handmade Parade return to the Town Hall with an exhibition of their most recent projects, and life through lockdown with their film We are Here.

Handmade Parade help to create and deliver magical, inclusive and exciting projects across the country from their base at Victoria Works - creating spectacular events, art, and bringing joy to communities far and wide.

Most people will have seen the Parade in Hebden Bridge or Lamplighter in Todmorden, and many of us have taken part and supported Handmade Parade over the years.

When lockdown hit in 2020, the summer parade was sadly postponed, but Handmade Parade found a way to get people involved in their workshops online instead.

Now, their new exhibition at The Town Hall will showcase what they’ve been building, alongside their recent projects.

The team says, “It’s been such a long time since we’ve seen you and we wanted to share a little of what we’ve been doing.”

“We were so sad that we couldn’t deliver the Summer Parade in 2020, so we went online and found a different but equally lovely community there.  Together, Our Creative Community said, “We Are Here”.

“We wrote a story, drew pictures, designed puppets, made masks, props and beautiful scenery, wrote and recorded fab music, took photos, made animations and together Our Creative Community made a film.

Our exhibition of our recent work will run at Hebden Bridge Town Hall from 24 May until 18 June 2022, and we’d love you to join us!”

There will be art displayed around the building to be enjoyed, and Handmade Parade’s half-hour film showcasing the project will be shown in the Waterfront Hall, most days, from 3pm.
