Part-time (24 Hours Contracted)

Salary: £11.78 per hour
Hours:
24 hours per week (overtime hours will also be available but will vary)
Purpose of position:
Assisting in the running of our busy café and events catering services.
Working schedule: Hours will usually be worked between Monday to Sunday daytimes, and will include evening shifts during peak season. The schedule is set monthly around the needs of the business.
Reporting to: Catering Manager

We are recruiting for a part-time cook to become part of our hard-working and friendly team. This is a new role within the department, to help meet the demand of our busy café and event catering service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve food as part of café and catering service. Ensuring it is consistently of a high standard and to agreed menus.

  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations and working under HACCP guidelines. Maintaining a high standard of personal presentation.

  • Ordering stock required for an event that differs from the main Café menu.

  • Working with the Catering Manager and catering staff to periodically review and refresh menus to meet our customers’ expectations and to generate a sufficient surplus.

  • To demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and flexible attitude towards customers, other team members, volunteers, tenants and other building users. Recognising the importance and benefits of effective team working.

  • Assist with stock control, financial administration, general house-keeping and serving customers.

  • Assist in supporting the Catering Supervisors in leading the team on shift.

Essential experience and skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Experience working in a kitchen/catering setting

  • Experience in a customer-facing role

  • Excellent organisational skills and time-management

  • Friendly, professional, and welcoming personality

  • Flexibility and willingness to work with other departments as and when required

  • Front of house experience is desirable but not essential, we are interested in hearing from those who have strong skills in catering and cooking.

Events Officer
Part-time (Casual)

Hours:
Casual, shifts from 4-8 hours
Purpose of position:
Assisting in the running of our events, bar and café
Working schedule: Hours will usually be worked between Monday to Sunday daytime and evening – including late nights
Reporting to: Catering Manager and Events Manager

Closing date: Monday 17th June 2024

We are recruiting for a casual Events Officer to become part of our hard working and friendly team. This is a new role to help meet the demand of our busy events schedule.

Main Responsibilities

  • The ideal candidate will have 1+ years hospitality/bar experience with a proven record of maintaining standards.

  • Excellent customer service skills, making sure that every day our customers have the best experience possible.

  • Assisting the Events and Catering team leaders with the effective delivery of events, including catering and bar service.

  • Opening and locking up the building.

  • Preparing tablecloths and chair covers, pouring drinks and moving furniture.

  • Cash handling.

  • Maintaining a clean and professional working environment.

  • Developing and maintaining good working relations clients, staff team, volunteers, tenants and users of the building.

Essential experience and skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Organisation and time management.

  • Ability to work in a highly social environment.

  • A desire to grow and gain new experiences and skills.

  • Friendly, professional, and welcoming personality.

  • Flexibility and willingness to work with other departments as and when required.
