A Chance to Dance returns! Music and movement for everyone in a fun, relaxed and safe environment

Our fabulous community dance session, A Chance to Dance, returns to the Town Hall from Thursday 28th April, and will also take place at the Fielden Centre in Todmorden, St Michaels Church in Mytholmroyd, and Heptonstall Bowling Club.

Led by dance facilitator Margeurite, the drop-in sessions are an opportunity to move to many different types of music, meet friends and have a good time in a safe and relaxed environment. The sessions are open to everybody, regardless of age, gender or ability, and our building is fully accessible.

Margeurite says,

“I’m a community dance facilitator trained in contemporary dance, and I have taught creative dance for many years.

“I don’t teach steps or styles, and A CHANCE TO DANCE sessions are not about how good someone is at dancing, it’s about how it makes you feel!

“I use many different kinds of music - from across the decades and around the world! These sessions involve what I would call ‘social dancing’, ie what you might do on a night out, or if people have done classes before in a particular style or genre - such line-dancing, ballroom, salsa, why not come along and we can all have a go.

“A CHANCE TO DANCE does what it says on the tin - a chance to dance in a welcoming, friendly space.

“Dance and move to your own heartbeat - I can bring the music if you can bring the dancing!”

The sessions will be running roughly once a month for the rest of 2022, and there will be regular sessions across Hebden Bridge, Mytholmroyd and Heptonstall. Take a look at the dates below:
