Calder Valley Swing dance classes are back for 2022 at Hebden Bridge Town Hall. Join us each Wednesday evening, for dance class for absolute beginners, at 8.15pm. No previous experience or partner required.
There is also an Improvers class at 7.15pm. Admission is £6 for the whole evening (cash or card), with discounts for block bookings. After the classes end, the group heads to Nelson’s Wine Bar, for a drink and perhaps a dance.
No partner is required for the sessions, but you are welcome to arrive with a partner and remain with them throughout the class if you wish. You are encouraged to dance in your preferred role (lead or follow) regardless of gender.
The lessons will take place in the Waterfront Hall, a spacious accessible room with lots of ventilation.
Kevin says, “ We are following the government’s guidance for Dance Halls, with extra precautions as follows:
Covid Pass to be shown at the beginning, in accordance with government guidance.
We are using the Town Hall’s largest space, the Waterfront Hall, to allow greater distancing. The Hall has lots of windows which we will open to allow fresh air to circulate.
Hand sanitiser will be available.
We will encourage those arriving in a couple to stay as a couple throughout or to form a small group with others.
We will encourage those arriving in a group to stay in a group throughout the class.
We will encourage individuals to form a small group and stay in that group throughout.
Mask wearing is optional during the class”
Bring your own water bottle, which can be refilled inside the Town Hall. Check out the Calder Valley Swing website for a list of FAQs and more information about the classes.
The sessions end around 9.15pm, when you’re invited to join the after-class social in the nearby Nelson’s wine bar. For more information, check out Calder Valley Swing on Facebook or the Calder Valley Swing website.
